Simon Cowell's mother Julie has confirmed his engagement to Mezhgan Hussainy.

She tells The Mirror: "I’m shocked. I was the first person he called to say he was getting engaged. He knew he had to tell Mother first. I said ‘you’re joking aren’t you?’ But no, he said that he wasn’t – and I’m looking forward to wearing a hat to the wedding." It must suck to be Max Clifford right now - as Simon's publicist, he only claimed it wasn't true 12 hours ago!!!!!
