Once upon a time, the Duchess of York wasn't far off being homeless and desperate herself, with a monstrous £5 million overdraft when she divorced Prince Andrew.

These days, with lucrative endorsement deals and a successful series of children's books, Fergie travels by Bentley and eats at Nobu, but she hasn't forgotten those less fortunate than herself - on her way out of the restaurant last night, she stopped for a chat with a homeless man and left some money with him.

Ahhh... isn't she lovely???
