Jade rushed back to hospital

Jade Goody has been rushed back to the Royal Marsden hospital in Chelsea this evening to undergo emergency surgery for "awful pain" in her continuing battle with terminal cancer.

Her publicist Max Clifford said he had received "a very emotional phone call" from the Big Brother star, in which she begged him to tell her: "Why can't they get me out of all this pain?"

Goody had planned to spend the weekend in St. Clare Hospice before returning to her Essex home tomorrow, but it's now expected she will undergo an operation tonight for the stomach pain she's suffering from. Jade understands what's happening, and her attitude upon learning of the necessity of more surgery was: "Whatever gets me out of this pain."

This is getting frightening now - it's not clear whether this is an ongoing part of Jade's treatment, or whether (as she herself fears) the end is drawing very near. Good luck, Jade......
