Heath Ledger awards fall-out

According to press reports in New York, a battle is raging over who will collect Heath Ledger's posthumous Golden Globe should he win the award.

Heath's dad is keen to collect the award on his son's behalf, but insiders say Warner Bros (who made Dark Knight) want Michelle Williams to collect it on behalf of their daughter Matilda. A friend of the family has said: "Why would Michelle be involved? She had nothing to do with the movie. They weren't even together when he passed away. Would you have your ex-wife accept your award? And they weren't even married. Director Chris Nolan or star Christian Bale would make more sense. Michelle makes no sense. It's like those rumors that she would go to the premiere of "Dark Knight." That was never in the realm of possibility."

Oh dear - this is all a bit sad.... Heath died less than a year ago, are they really bothered about who gets to show up to some awards show????? Get over it!
