Eastenders actress Samantha Janus was left devastated on Sunday as her estranged father was discovered hanged by his neighbours at his grotty one-bedroom council flat in Brighton.

The pair had not spoken following a bust-up over Sam's recent wedding to Mark Womack, with him declaring it was "like a dagger to the heart" when his daughter decided he couldn't walk her down the aisle. The argument caused her to request that no pictures of her family were included in the subsequent 8-page OK! Magazine photo spread covering their wedding.

Johnny Ikon really feels for Sam at the moment - it must be awful to lose your dad in these circumstances. Her father chose the coward's way out, and she can't blame herself for that.
