Channel 4 have confirmed today that they won't be continuing with Big Brother beyond their contractual obligations to broadcast a celebrity version in January and next summer's series.
Saying it's "time to move on", their Director of Television Kevin Lygo explained that it will be challenging to find profitable replacements, but he must "champion new forms of creativity".
RIP Big Brother, you'll be missed after you've gone. Johnny Ikon thinks it's a show which totally defined our generation's preoccupation with fame and maybe its demise will signal a shift of some kind. I'll also be hoping that this means an end to the dreadful Davina's career!
